Description
Silvio Cavatorta took the reins of the Cavatorta family business in the 1930s. The company produced its furniture in small, exclusive series, and its main clients were embassies, hotels, schools, and ships. Each piece of furniture was uniquely designed for each specific commission. While most other well-known Italian furniture makers and designers in the second half of the 20th century embraced industrial methods of production and reproduction, the Cavatorta company remained true to its standards in rejecting large-scale industrial production and in favor of fine materials and craftsmanship. Thanks to unique commissions, the family firm's handcrafted and textured style of production, and a cosmopolitan interest that goes beyond Italian design, Cavatorta furniture remains unique, rare, and of the highest quality, both aesthetically and constructively.
Here we have a unique piece of furniture made in wooden frame with supports, wall attachments and brass details. Over the six drawers, there are a beveled crystal glass top and a swinging mirror. Silvio Cavatorta relized it during the 50s.
Good condition, fully original.
We recommend a wooden crate for shipping, especially for the glass parts, very fragile. -
