Antique French Belle Époque cut glass and gilt bronze chandelier
French, late 19th Century

This beautiful Belle Époque chandelier is crafted from gilt bronze and cut glass. The gilt bronze frame of the chandelier is baluster shaped, with a series of curved frame arms rising from a broad bottom to a slenderer top. Each of the nine frame arms supports a light branch, each branching supporting a single candle. The light, cage-like gilt bronze frame of the chandelier is profusely draped with cut glass pendants, which catch the light and refract the candle beams into a spectrum of magnificent colours. -
