Description
Nanda Vigo for Arredoluce Iceberg Table Lamp, Italy, c. 1969
Rare Iceberg table lamp designed by Nanda Vigo for Arredoluce, Italy, circa 1969. Model 14088.
Vigo's Italian avant-garde lighting, the Iceberg combines mirrored glass, frosted glass, brass, and matte chrome-plated steel in a refined geometric composition. The square glass panel features a dark mirrored center surrounded by an illuminated frosted glass border, creating a dramatic interplay of light, reflection, and transparency. The panel rises from a minimal rectangular metal base, emphasizing the architectural simplicity of the design.
The lamp exemplifies Nanda Vigo's pioneering exploration of light and spatial perception, central themes throughout her work. Its restrained geometry and atmospheric illumination reflect the experimental spirit of Italian design during the late 1960s.
Produced by Arredoluce under the direction of Angelo Lelii, the Iceberg represents an important collaboration between one of Italy's most innovative designers and its celebrated lighting manufacturer.
