Description
This elegant pair of Art Deco sconces, created by the esteemed French designers Genet et Michon around 1935, showcases the iconic skyscraper style of the period in a warm and captivating form. Each sconce features meticulously crafted semi-circular glass elements, vertically oriented and characterized by geometric forms and sophisticated detailing, complemented by polished brass fittings that enhance their luxurious appeal.
The combination of glass and brass reflects the bold yet refined aesthetic of the Art Deco movement, making them perfect accent pieces for both antique and modern interiors. These sconces are ideal for adding a touch of vintage glamour to hallways, living spaces, or bedrooms. Each sconce has two arms that emerge from the bottom section of the frames, rising with candle form enamel cylinders that hold custom gilt off white shades in stunning condition and with radiant warmth from the bulbs.
With their exquisite design and exemplary craftsmanship, this pair of Genet et Michon sconces stands out as a testament to the timeless elegance of French Art Deco design, styling beautifully in a wide array of spaces and settings, from Mid-Century Modernist to Contemporary and Minimal Interiors. Newly rewired to American Standards, these sconces accommodate two candelabra base bulbs each, achieving up to 120 watts of light per sconce. In Excellent Vintage Condition. - More Information
