Description
A playful pair of Space Age table lamps in yellow, white, and wood designed by Bent Karlby for ASK Belysning from the 1970s. The lamps embody the Space Age spirit with a vibrant color palette, a distinctly futuristic form, and the innovative use of plastic as a primary structural material. Their lightweight and compact design do not hold these colourful lamps from delivering a striking visual impact, making them a bold statement piece for any modernistic or eclectic interior that embraces character.
Both lamps are in good condition and have been updated with modern electrical wiring for contemporary use. One of the lamp cords features an added inline switch for convenience.
Bent Karlby was a prolific Danish designer who worked across furniture, glassware, and lighting. He is celebrated for his sculptural, often playful approach to form, perfectly capturing the optimistic and experimental spirit of mid-century Danish design. ASK Belysning was a Danish lighting manufacturer known for producing high-quality, innovative designs. The company collaborated with renowned designers like Jo Hammerborg and Bent Karlby, creating iconic pieces that were both functional and artistic. -
