Description
This Space Age table lamp by German manufacturer Cosack features a minimalist cylindrical form composed of plexiglass elements. The lower section consists of a solid clear plexiglass base with a precision-molded hollow cone at its center. This internal geometry serves to catch and diffuse light from the bulb housed in the upper section, creating a distinct atmospheric glow. The top half is a simple opal plexiglass cylinder that acts as a shade, providing soft, even illumination.
Gebrüder Cosack (also known as Gecos) was a prominent German lighting manufacturer founded in 1848 in Neheim-Hüsten. While originally a producer of metal wares, the company became a leader in modern lighting design after 1945, particularly noted for their high-quality materials and innovative use of plastics during the 1960s and 1970s. -
