Description
This elegant and Cubist detailed Art Deco Stylized Cubist Molded & Frosted Glass Chandelier by Degué originates from France, Circa 1930. This Chandelier features a brilliant framework of silvered bronze with cubist motifs of leaves and roses in relief, mirroring the design of the frosted glass shades which elaborate and explore the concept further. Five panels of glass are housed by the central framework, four angled on each side with a bottom shade as well. From each corner of the chandelier elements of the frame extend and suspend downward facing shades with reeded geometric detailing and cubist rose detailing. Rectangular elements of the frame travel inwards, then angle up with curvilinear flanged detailing beautifully accentuating the piece and leading the eye to the canopy. Beautifully proportioned and with detailing throughout, this chandelier will style well in a wide array of spaces and settings, from Art Deco to Mid-Century Modernist and Contemporary Interiors. Signed "Degué" on the hanging shades. This piece is newly rewired to American Standards and has a height that can be adjusted to suit. Accommodates one Edison base and four candelabra based light bulbs achieving up to 340 watts of light.
