Description
Sculptural modular “Googie” wall or ceiling light designed by celebrated Italian design duo Draga & Aurel and manufactured in Italy by Baxter. This striking contemporary lighting piece combines futuristic Space Age inspiration with refined Italian craftsmanship, featuring a curvilinear white opaline methacrylate (Lucite) diffuser mounted within a satin solid brass framework.
Designed as part of the highly sought-after Googie lighting collection, the modular form allows for dynamic architectural compositions across ceilings or walls, creating dramatic shadows, soft ambient illumination, and sculptural movement within the space. The organic asymmetrical silhouette evokes Mid-Century Modern, Italian Modern, and Postmodern aesthetics, making it ideal for luxury interiors, boutique hospitality projects, contemporary residences, and high-end interior design installations.
The softly diffused illumination through the white Lucite creates a warm atmospheric glow while the satin brass hardware adds richness and sophistication. Whether installed individually or grouped into larger arrangements, the Googie modules become functional works of art that transform a room into an immersive design environment.
This example includes a total of four available modules/lights.
Condition note:
One of the modules shown has two corners with breaks to the Lucite around the corner fasteners that secure the piece to the frame. Despite this, the fixture remains structurally secure and presents beautifully once installed. Minor surface wear, light scratches, and patina consistent with age and use.
An exceptional statement lighting piece for collectors of Italian design, Baxter furniture and lighting, and interior designers seeking rare sculptural architectural lighting.
Measurements:
34.50 in. wide x 34.50 in. deep x 9 in. projection from wall/ceiling -
