Description
A stunning matched pair of ceramic table lamps by Gordon and Jane Martz for Marshall Studios, one of mid-century America's most celebrated studio pottery partnerships. The bases are hand-thrown in Martz's signature architectural form — a wide, gently tapered cylinder body transitioning to a slender elongated neck — and finished in a richly speckled cobalt blue glaze that shifts between deep navy and bright ultramarine depending on the light. Each base bears the hand-incised Martz signature, confirming authenticity.
The lamps are topped with crisp white drum shades fitted with teak finials — a material detail entirely in keeping with the Martz aesthetic and the broader Scandinavian-influenced American modernism of the period. Brown cloth cords complete the period-correct presentation.
Both lamps have been fully rewired to current safety standards and fitted with new shades. Plug in and enjoy.
