A glorious eight-light Neoclassical giltwood chandelier from Italy, 19th century, that glows from the lustrous gold gilt finish and red bole underneath. This beautiful antique fixture is made of a slender wood column which has been finely hand-carved with foliate and acanthus motifs typical of the Louis XVI style, as it broadens into the candle arms. Eight thick arms of acanthus decoration scroll into the faux candles for candelabra-base bulbs over an intricate bowl underneath that terminates with a stylized artichoke finial. Professionally cleaned and rewired for the US using UL-listed components, ready to install in your interior. We believe this to be in good antique condition considering its age, and any visible signs of wear are captured in the photos.
