A pair of ultra-chic brass table lamps made in Finland, circa 1956. They sit nice and low on a flat base with solid brass feet and are wonderfully patinated. The perforated brass shade allows small beams of light to shine through the tiny holes. This is an exceptional pair, including a decorative coil spring and shapely neck. Perfect little lamps to illuminate a bookshelf or desk. Sold as a pair. Adjustable shade. Medium Base bulb. Stamped Itsu.
8.5" H x 11" W x 4.5" D
Itsu is short for Itä-Suomen Sähkö, the Eastern Finland Electricity company. The company was founded in 1945, after World War II, and bought by Idman OY in 1961. Much of Itsu’s production had a resemblance to works by Paavo Tynell and Tapio Wirkkala - both of whom worked for Idman OY.
(I prefer to keep my brass objects with their original patina, but they can always be polished up if requested).
