Below are statements by the Laurel lamp Foundation concerning the origin of the lamp's design.

"Hello we are reaching out on behalf of the Laurel Lamp Foundation. This is a Laurel lamp that is misattributed to the wrong designer. Our foundation finds no relationship between Laurel and Balmer. The correct designer is Richard Barr. Please contact us for more information and original catalog photos of this piece. Thank you for ensuring the proper designer gets credit for his work. Thank you! "-

"The Laurel Lamp Foundation""After speaking with Harry Balmer’s family, our non profit foundation confirmed with them that there is no documented relationship between Balmer and Laurel. This piece appears in the 1968 Laurel catalogs. The Laure designers at the time were Richard Barr and Harold Weiss. With the approval and encouragement of the Balmer family, our Foundation is actively working, to correct these misattributions. Thank you"
