Description
This rare Mid-Century Modernist flush mount chandelier, crafted in France circa 1960, embodies the timeless sophistication of its era. A marriage of clean lines and subtle textures, the piece features a polished chrome base, which serves as a crisp architectural foundation for the spun frosted glass shade. The glass, with its textured finish, diffuses light with remarkable softness, creating an understated yet inviting ambiance.
The design, while minimal, carries an undeniable presence. Its compact flush-mount structure makes it ideal for spaces seeking refinement without compromise on practicality. Perfect for a dining room, entryway, or intimate living area, this chandelier doesn't overwhelm; it complements, enhancing a room with its quiet elegance and subtle play of light.
French craftsmanship of the mid-century period was renowned for its ability to merge functionality and artistry, and this chandelier exemplifies the ethos beautifully. The chrome offers a modernist sleekness, while the frosted glass introduces an organic warmth—an interplay that captures the balance so central to 1960s design. Newly rewired to American standards, this fixture accommodates two edison base bulbs achieving up to 200 watts of light. In Excellent Vintage Condition.
