Description
This elegant Mid-Century Modernist chandelier, crafted in France circa 1950, is a refined example of the organic yet sophisticated design language characteristic of the era. Featuring a tulip-inspired form, the chandelier is composed of gracefully curved brass arms radiating outward, each culminating in frosted glass shades that softly diffuse light with a warm, ambient glow.
The frosted glass contrasts beautifully with the lustrous, polished brass framework, creating a timeless interplay of texture and tone. Delicate black enamel detailing is beautifully applied to the shades, enhancing its understated sophistication. With the brass framework patinating beautifully over time, and with lovely scalloped form motifs that mirror the floral quality of the chandelier.
A perfect example of modernist design combined with organic inspiration, this chandelier is a captivating addition to mid-century interiors or spaces that embrace timeless European craftsmanship and elegance. Its tulip form evokes both beauty and lightness, making it a functional and artistic centerpiece for any room. Newly rewired to American Standards and with height that can be adjusted to suit, this chandelier accommodates 10 bayonet base bulbs achieving up to 1000 watts of light. In Excellent Vintage Condition.
