Description
This sophisticated Art Deco table lamp, crafted in France circa 1935, is a brilliant presentation of the sleek, geometric elegance that defines the Art Deco movement. Signed by the renowned French glassmakers Muller Frères, this piece perfectly embodies the interplay of modern materials and artistic craftsmanship characteristic of the era.
The lamp features an open form chrome base, showcasing clean, streamlined lines that reflect the minimalist and industrial aesthetic of Art Deco design. The chrome finish adds a polished, contemporary touch with a striking reflective quality, making it a captivating centerpiece for any interior setting.
Topping the base is a frosted cubist shade, a testament to the creativity and innovation of Muller Frères. The shade’s geometric pattern features bold, cubist-inspired forms that diffuse light beautifully, creating a soft and ambient glow. The frosted glass enhances the interplay of light and shadow, adding a sense of depth and dynamic visual interest.
Muller Frères, based in Luneville, France, were masters of art glass in the early 20th century and became one of the most celebrated producers of lighting and decorative glassware during the Art Nouveau and Art Deco periods. The signed shade underscores the lamp’s authenticity and its place as a highly collectible piece of Art Deco lighting history.
This circa 1935 table lamp, with its innovative open form and cubist-inspired shade, is both functional and artistic, making it a timeless representation of French Art Deco design. Ideal for collectors or anyone who appreciates vintage European craftsmanship, this lamp serves as a striking decorative statement for any home or office. Newly rewired to American Standards, and accommodating one edison base bulb achieving up to 100 watts of light, this piece is in Excellent Vintage Condition.
