Pair of Art Deco Antique Bronze and Pressed Rose Glass Skyscraper Style Sconces
-
Description
His beautiful pair of Art Deco Machine Age sconces were realized in France, circa 1935. They feature octagonal skyscraper style backplates with tiered perimeters in antique bronze with sinuously curved supports in brass extending outwards. The shades hang, like beautiful lanterns, from the supports attached via skyscraper style fittings. The subtly rose-tinted pressed glass is replete with a wealth of geometric forms and Art Deco leitmotifs (including more skyscraper style detailing- an ode to the modern metropolis- and stylized sunburst patterns). With its iconically deco aesthetic, these sconces are sure to appeal to discerning collectors of the period as well as those with a penchant for exquisite objects. They have been newly rewired to American standards and are in excellent vintage condition. We have a total of four of these sconces available for $5475 for the set. France, circa 1935
