Pair of Candelabra Lamps in the Bouillotte Style
-
Description
A pair of silver plated French candelabras made into bouillotte lamps with new black metal shades. Bouillotte is a card game that became popular in France during the 18th & 19th centuries. For light, they would use a bouillotte lamp. These silver plated lamps are beautiful showcasing a well patinated finish with touches of verdi gris. They also feature repeating neoclassical patterns, les perles, and 4 candelabra arms with faux wax candle covers. In the past as bouillotte candles would burn down one would use a key, where the shade connects the middle shaft, to lower the shade as the candles went down to allow the players to be free of glare. Recently rewired by a professional for the US using UL listed parts.
