Description
Elegant pair of French Art Deco bedside / boudoir lamps, dating from circa 1930 and combining warm walnut with luxurious shagreen. The circular bases rise to columnar stems built from alternating discs of figured walnut and dark, finely pebbled shagreen, creating a strong vertical rhythm and a subtle play of texture. Topped with lightly tinted parchment shades, the lamps have a soft, period‑correct profile that complements their compact, architectural silhouette.
The parchment shades diffuse the light with a warm, ambient glow, ideal for intimate bedroom or sitting‑room settings. Recently rewired for use in the United States, the pair is ready to install and works beautifully on nightstands, a low dresser, or on either side of a sculpture or painting, as in our installation view. Made in France, these lamps capture the refined material palette—exotic skins, fine woods, and parchment—and restrained geometry that define high‑quality Art Deco decorative arts.
Very good; minor surface wear to wood and shagreen consistent with age; parchment shades with light, even patina; newly rewired and ready to use
