Description
This exquisite pair of Mid-Century Modernist table lamps, crafted in France circa 1950, showcases a stunning sculptural sensibility with incredibly materials. Their spiral splash form, rendered in flawless crystal, catches the light in a mesmerizing dance of refracted brilliance. The undulating design evokes movement and fluidity, imbuing the pieces with a dynamic energy that feels both modern and timeless.
Each lamp achieves a sense of weightlessness despite the substantial presence of the crystal. The rounded spiral form suggest waves or currents frozen in time, offering an organic quality that contrasts beautifully with their precise geometry. The clarity of the crystal enhances the interplay between light and shadow, transforming these lamps into luminous focal points even when unlit.
As functional objects, they are versatile yet distinctive. The lamps are perfectly scaled for use on bedside tables or as accents on credenzas or console tables, lending elegance to any interior. Their design feels at home in curated modern environments, transitional spaces, or even eclectic arrangements, where their sculptural beauty can spark quiet admiration. Fitted with custom gallery shades and rewired to American Standards, these lamps accommodate one edison base bulb each achieving up to 100 watts of light. In Excellent Vintage Condition.
