Description
Art Deco Sunflower Pendant W/ Frosted Hexagonal Glass Shades by Pierre D'Avesn
$12,475.00
This remarkable Art Deco Sunflower Pendant W/ Frosted Hexagonal Glass Shades by Pierre D'Avesn originates from France, Circa 1930. This piece features a nested composition of hexagonal shades with subtly curved edges and a stunning array of geometric floral detailing radiating around the edges and down into the basin of each shade, with a signature denoting the maker visible surrounding the fitting of each shade. Rendered in clear frosted glass, this fixture has an ethereal sensibility with original nickel fittings and canopy with detailing that pairs beautifully with that of the shades. A striking and versatile fixture, this piece will style beautifully in a wide array of spaces and settings, from Art Deco to Mid-Century Modernist and Contemporary Interiors. Newly rewired to American Standards, and with height that can be adjusted to suit. This piece accommodates 10 candelabra base bulbs achieving up to 600 watts of light. In Excellent Vintage Condition.
Designed by Pierre D'Avesn, who began his career at the age of 14 working for Lalique, where he designed some of their most coveted and valuable pieces. He then worked for himself creating his own designs, as well as working for Daum Freres beginning in 1930 as art director of their molded glass department.
