Description
Architectural and highly refined, this Remains Lighting "Cardea" flush mount or wall sconce represents the meticulous craftsmanship and timeless design language that has made Remains a favorite among top interior designers, architects, and luxury residential projects.
Designed and manufactured in the United States, this sculptural jewel-box fixture is handcrafted from solid brass and finished in a luxurious polished nickel plating, paired with thick broad panels of precision-cut glass suspended within a clean geometric brass framework. Inspired by Cardea, the Roman goddess of hinges, thresholds, and doorways, the design incorporates discreetly hinged glass panels, allowing elegant interior access while celebrating both function and form.
The Cardea series has become a sought-after fixture among design professionals for its ability to bridge modernist architecture, Art Deco revival, transitional interiors, contemporary penthouses, gallery spaces, luxury powder rooms, hallways, dressing rooms, and bespoke hospitality environments.
This example was acquired directly from the Remains showroom and was used as a floor sample, offering collectors and designers the opportunity to acquire an authentic showroom example of one of the brand’s most recognized architectural lighting designs. Although the original manufacturer label is no longer present, the model is easily identifiable and fully documented through Remains’ catalog archives.
Executed with extraordinary attention to detail, from its precision-machined brass framing to its beautifully proportioned hinged glass panels, this fixture functions equally well as a flush mount ceiling light, wall sconce, corridor fixture, vanity light, or luxury built-in architectural accent.
