This spectacular nine-arm chandelier was designed and produced in Sweden in the 1950s.
The brass body features six downward-curving arms and three upward-curving arms, all attached to a sphere-shaped center. Each arm ends in a brass shade holder with dotted perforations in the upper part, creating a beautiful, atmospheric effect when the lamp is on. Each arm supports a bulbous-shaped shade made of matte opaline glass. The shades are hand-painted with an understated, abstract flower motif throughout. When illuminated, the hand-decorated shades can be admired in their full glory.
The tubular brass stem and bell-shaped canopy complete the design.
The lamp is in good original condition, with a patina on the brass that can be polished away for a newer look if desired. The glass shades are in very good condition, with one shade having a minimal chip on the top rim that is hardly noticeable when the lamp is installed. The lower, bottom rims of the shades show some small imperfections, which are completely invisible when the shades are placed into the brass holders.
