Description
This rare table lamp was produced by AB Stilarmatur Tranås in Sweden in the 1960s.
The design is distinguished by its high-quality, partially clear glass base, featuring a circular, slightly tapered form. Crafted using a blend of intricate techniques such as engraving and cutting, the base reveals a dynamic interplay of textures visible through the transparent glass. Rising from the glass is an elegant, elongated column crafted in rosewood, whose lively natural grain adds warmth and an organic character that beautifully contrasts with the cool, structured presence of the glass. The lamp is topped with a renewed cylindrical shade in elegant ivory Métaphores fabric. The finely textured textile provides a refined, neutral contrast while offering a soft and even light distribution.
The lamp is in very good condition, has been rewired, and is currently fitted with a 220V European plug. The rosewood with minor signs of wear and a natural patina consistent with age. It features a standard E26/E27 bulb fitting, with the original Stilarmatur Tranås label present on the fitting.
Specified dimensions:
Total height (including shade): 67 cm / 26.38 in
Height of the base only (excluding shade): 46 cm / 18.11 in
Diameter of the fabric shade: 20.5 cm / 8.07 in
