Rare 1970s brass & glass table lamp for AKA Elektrik, East Germany. This extremely rare and iconic design is executed in brass and opaline glass with original sculptural on/off switch. Retains original manufacturer's stamp.
AKA Elektrik / VEB Leuchtenbau Leipzig, LBL was one of the oldest and most innovative modernist lighting designers in East Germany during the Soviet era. Their iconic designs have long been valued by knowledgeable collectors.
Not UL listed, but recommended UL listing possible from authorized 3rd party vendor upon request for an additional fee. Wired for US. Accommodates a single 75W equivalent standard medium base bulb (lower with incandescent). Some scuffs, dings, chips, marks and losses as largely shown in the listing photos and noted only for accuracy. -
