Description
A striking and highly architectural pair of vintage American solid brass and beveled glass lantern-form hanging sconces, designed and manufactured in the United States during the 1970s. These substantial handcrafted fixtures embody the timeless appeal of American modernist lighting, blending nautical, colonial revival, and Hollywood Regency influences into one exceptionally versatile design.
Each lantern features a hand-fabricated solid brass frame with warm original patina, clear inset glass panels on all sides, a pyramidal roofline, and a vented chimney top suspended from a brass hoop and canopy assembly. The hinged glass access door opens smoothly, revealing a three-light candelabra cluster designed to provide a warm, dramatic illumination.
These statement fixtures work beautifully in a variety of interiors—from Spanish Revival, Coastal, Transitional, Traditional, and Modern Farmhouse settings to sophisticated entry halls, staircases, powder rooms, covered loggias, libraries, or luxury outdoor-inspired interiors.
The handcrafted construction, solid brass weight, and authentic aged patina make this pair especially desirable for interior designers, architects, collectors of vintage American lighting, and those sourcing one-of-a-kind statement illumination.
