Description
Fontana Arte rare exquisite adjustable vanity or table mirror composed of curvaceous shaped brass frame with central top brass scroll decoration resting on a curved stand with decorative nobs for pivoting, Italy, 1940s. This original midcentury period dressing mirror has lovely details throughout and is constructed with exceptional craftsmanship and excellence in design which Fontana Arte was reputed for. It is in remarkably very good original condition given age and use with a rich patina to the brass. The iconic and lyrical crest or crown-like top scroll decoration is a design element used by Gio Ponti for some of his furniture, mirrors and other decorative arts pieces and is a fine example of the Novecento design style. Exuding sophistication and glamour, this elegant table mirror will add refinement adorning any room whether classic or modern.
