Description
Medium-scale ceramic wall mirror by François Lembo, produced in the 1970s. The mirror has a circular form and is finished in a rich gold glaze, decorated with raised scrolling relief and jewel-like enameled cabochons in turquoise, red, and black.
The mirror plate is set within a thick, sculptural ceramic frame, giving the piece strong dimensional presence and visual weight. The combination of gilt surface, applied relief, and jeweled elements is characteristic of Lembo’s ceramic mirrors from this period.
Signed on the verso with a sgraffito signature. -
