A French 19th century Louis Philippe mantel mirror with an understated, silver gilt frame enhanced by dark oxidation and craquelure texture. Etched into the frame is a fluted pattern interrupted by a few cracks and areas of wear which give authentic patina to the design. Note that the mirror plate appears to be original and is lightly streaked with a curious line of foxing in the glass. This gorgeous mirror will be right at home in many decorating tastes and rooms.
