Artist Bio
Antonio Citterio (Italian designer)
Antonio Citterio, born in 1950 in Meda, Italy, is a renowned designer and architect. He graduated in architecture from Politecnico di Milano in 1975 and founded his design studio in 1972. Known for collaborations with major brands like B&B Italia, Flos, and Kartell, he earned his first Compasso d’Oro in 1987.
Citterio also worked on plastic designs for Kartell, receiving a second Compasso d’Oro in 1994. He co-founded the architectural firm Antonio Citterio & Partners in 1999, later renamed ACPV, which handles global projects. Citterio has been a professor since 2006 and was named “Royal Designer for Industry” in 2008. His work is displayed in major museums, including MoMA and the Chicago Museum of Architecture and Design. -
