Charlotte Perriand pine benches Les Arcs 1970s

$ 19,000
  • Description
    A pair of solid pine benches designed by Charlotte Perriand in the 1970s for the furnishing of the apartments in the Les Arcs ski resort. Composed of rectangular sections forming the legs and seat, joined by a stretcher, they embody the clean, functional approach that defines Perriand’s work for this iconic project. The pine, chosen for its harmony with the mountain environment, brings a natural warmth to your interior. Fully restored in our workshop, this pair has regained all its original authenticity while still maintaining a great patina.
    Charlotte Perriand is one of the most influential figures in 20th-century design and architecture. Trained at the École de l’Union Centrale des Arts Décoratifs, she joined Le Corbusier’s studio in 1927, where, together with Pierre Jeanneret, she designed some of the most iconic pieces of modernist furniture, including the LC4 chaise longue and the Grand Confort armchair. Her work later evolved toward a lyrical naturalism, integrating raw materials and organic forms. In the 1960s and 1970s, she pushed the boundaries of prefabrication by designing all the furniture for the Les Arcs resort, a major project in her career and a true manifesto of her approach to design in service of everyday life.
