Edward Wormely lounge chair model #4796 produced by Dunbar Furniture Company "Dunbar For Modern" Line, production date of 8/2/1950 - 10/23/1950. Provenance copy of original purchase order with original tear sheet.
The perfect reading chair, very comfortable with lots of room to sit crossed legs or curl up into one side of the chair. In very good condition newly upholstered with Nobilis Velvet.
1944 Dunbar furniture company started to focus on Modern lines noted as "Dunbar for Modern" with Edward Wormley heading the design. This chair is a great early example of Wormley's style and sophistication. He took the best elements from classical, historical design and translated them into Modern vernacular. His designs where met with instant success. Provenance includes original bill of sale from Dunbar Furniture Manufacturing Co. Berne, Indiana dated 10/23/1950, and a copy of the catalog tear sheet. -
