Description
A post modern "Corbeille" Sofa by Francesco Binfare for Edra. Eight leather cushions are are held in place by an accordion style tubular metal frame. Original leather upholstery. Sourced in Northern Italy.
Francesco Binfaré is an Italian furniture designer who has collaborated closely with Edra since the early 1990s. His work focuses primarily on seating and upholstered furniture, with an emphasis on construction systems, ergonomics, and material research.
For Edra, Binfaré has developed a number of influential collections—including Flap, Standard, Essential, On the Rocks, and Corbeille—many of which incorporate adjustable or modular elements intended to accommodate different postures and uses. His designs are characterized by technically complex internal structures paired with soft, visually informal forms.
Through this body of work, Binfaré has played a significant role in shaping Edra’s reputation for experimental yet highly crafted contemporary furniture, produced through a combination of industrial innovation and traditional Italian manufacturing techniques. -
