FontanaArte is an Italian design company founded in Milan in 1932 by architect Gio Ponti and glass manufacturer Luigi Fontana. Originally established as a producer of artistic glass furnishings and lighting, the company became one of the most influential names in 20th-century Italian design. FontanaArte is known for combining modernist design with high-quality glass craftsmanship, producing lighting, mirrors, tables, and decorative objects characterized by clean lines and refined materials. Throughout the mid-century period, the company collaborated with notable designers including Max Ingrand, Gae Aulenti, and Pietro Chiesa. Many FontanaArte designs remain in production and are regarded as icons of Italian modernism. -
