French 19th Century Louis XVI Style Painted and Upholstered Daybed

A lovely 19th-century French daybed crafted in the Louis XVI style. The wooden bedframe has a painted finish that has become nicely patinated with time. It features panels upholstered with a striped velvet in an ochre color, which is sure to brighten up any space. The fabric has endured some wear and staining over the years, consistent with the bed’s age and continued use. The visible nailheads throughout the frame offer nice contrast to the softness of the fabric. Included with the frame are a boxspring, mattress, coverlet, and two bolsters, all upholstered in the same yellow velvet. While the boxspring and mattress would most likely need to be replaced, we can see the bed’s potential for beauty in the image gallery. The interior dimensions are close to a standard twin and would accommodate twin size bedding, but a custom box spring and mattress would be needed to fit inside the frame. With its sophisticated design, this comfortable daybed would make a fine addition to any room. Gently cleaned and tightened, ready for use in your interiors.
