Pair of 19th Century Portuguese Painted Panels Made into a Cabinet

Offered by: Fireside Antiques

Description
Dimensions: 44” H x 38 ¼” W x 9 ¾” D

Painted wood panels from 19th-century Portugal are given new life as the doors to this hanging wall cabinet. The panels have a pattern of red flowers and blue leaves against a robin’s egg background, all painted by hand circa 1810. They open with knobs and are fixed with barrel hinges to the cabinet, which is new construction. Inside, we find two fixed shelves measuring 5” deep, perfect for hanging toilet paper or as a medicine cabinet. The interior has been painted a striking red, which contrasts nicely with the calm exterior. We believe this to be in good condition considering the age, and any visible signs of wear are captured in the photos. Please view the detailed image gallery for the current condition or reach out with any questions.
