The restrained elegance and timeless grace of this pair of French Directoire armchairs would be the perfect addition to any seating arrangement. The comfortable, oak-framed chairs date to circa 1800 France, a period of transition both in politics and aesthetic tastes which is exhibited in the refined silhouettes of clean lines enhanced with a minimal number of carved motifs on the arms. Neutral beige upholstery outlined in braided trim is in fair condition while the internal structure remains firm and comfortable for continued, occasional use.
