Description
This rare 'Madame' lounge chair was designed by Fritz Neth and produced by the Correcta Sitzformbau Company in Kassel, Germany in the early 1950s. The organically shaped seat gives the chair a sculptural and striking appearance. The chair is very comfortable to sit in, thanks to its well thought out construction and proportions. The chair has been fully reconditioned and newly upholstered in a white 'Awassi' fabric by Nobilis Paris. This high quality bouclé fabric is fluffy, soft and feels sumptuous. The reupholstery process of the Madame chair requires great craftsmanship and attention to detail because of the hand stitching of all seams. The inner frame consists of strong, welded metal strips to which the foam interior layer is applied. In this way the beautiful dynamic shape of the shell can be created whilst at the same time offering great seating comfort. Literature: R. Bermpohl & H. Winkelmann, Das Moebelbuch, C. Bertelsmann Verlag, 1958, page 372.
