Exceptional Ole Jacobsen Armchair in Sculpted Teak, C.B. Hansen, Denmark, 1949

Description
This exceptionally rare armchair was designed by the Danish architect Ole Jacobsen. It was produced by C.B. Hansen Etabl., a renowned Danish cabinetmaker and manufacturer known for its high quality production and for supplying to the Danish court. This particular armchair was made in a few examples only for the directors office of the ØK (East Asiatic Company) in Copenhagen. The office interior including this chair was pictured in a 1949 advertisement for the C.B. Hansen company. The chair features a beautifully sculpted frame in solid teak wood. The organic lines of the frame and the runner legs give the chair a striking and elegant appearance. The upholstery has been renewed in an ivory, wool blend fabric which offers a nice contrast with the warm tone of the wooden frame.

The chair is in very good condition. Recently reupholstered. The restored wooden frame with minor, non distracting wear.
