Pair of Swedish Ebonized Neoclassical Armchairs, Circa 1880

Crafted in Sweden around 1880, this elegant pair of neoclassical armchairs showcases the restrained craftsmanship and balanced proportions that define late 19th-century Scandinavian furniture. The ebonized frames feature gently scrolled crest rails above open backs centered by carved rosette medallions, with gracefully curved arms terminating in rounded supports. Carved blind-arcading decorates the seat rails, while tapered legs reinforce the chairs' architectural silhouette. The upholstered seats provide comfort and are ready to receive a fabric of choice, allowing the pair to be tailored to a wide range of interiors. Their crisp lines and understated ornament make them exceptionally versatile, equally at home around a dining table, as occasional seating, or as accent chairs in both traditional and contemporary settings.
