A rare pair of Swedish Rococo chairs dating to circa 1770, crafted in the Lindome area outside Gothenburg. These period chairs retain their original painted surfaces, carefully scraped back to reveal the authentic early finish, showing a softly weathered patina consistent with 18th-century Swedish interiors.

The frames display classic Rococo proportions, with gracefully curved backs, sculpted splats, and cabriole legs joined by understated stretchers. Subtle carved details along the aprons and crest rails reflect the refined yet restrained ornamentation characteristic of Lindome craftsmanship, known for its elegant interpretations of continental Rococo forms.

Both chairs have been newly upholstered in natural linen, providing a clean and sympathetic contrast to the aged paint while ensuring practical comfort.
