Description
This one-of-a-kind pair stands as evidence to the enduring charm of handcrafted furniture. They tells a story of craftsmanship and the timeless appeal of rustic beauty. With their dark-toned wooden construction and upholstered cushions, these chairs effortlessly blend into modern interiors, providing a sense of history and authenticity.
What makes this pair particularly compelling is their architectural form. The heptagonal body feels like a miniature interior in itself, like being seated within a small chapel stall, yet translated into a piece of furniture that fits into a modern home. The vertical paneling wraps around the sitter in an almost protective manner, and each plane of timber becomes part of a rhythmic faceting that animates the surface. The wood has the kind of warmth that only time can bring: the slight polishing of the grain, the deep tone, and the edges that have softened through the decades. Against all of that, the circular upholstered cushion lands as a visual counterpoint, soft against hard, light against dark, round against angular. It modernises the chairs instantly and opens a dialogue between structure and comfort. These chairs were designed to last, both in quality and in form - they are grounded, bold, yet uniquely charming.
This pair of chairs is sculptural enough to stand alone in a minimalist room, yet humble enough to sit near bookshelves or a side table without dominating the space. They have weight, but not heaviness, and bring atmosphere simply by existing in a space. In today's world, where mass-produced furniture dominate the market, these chairs stand out as symbols of authenticity and character, thus making the perfect addition to any interior.
