Description
Absolutely rare pair of extravagant late 19th century ashwood cabinets from the so-called "second Biedermeier" era around 1860 in Bohemia (Czech Republic). This exceptional handcrafted late Biedermeier cabinets impress with their unusual, appealing design. Artfully shaped lines veneered with thick ash wood which builds an absolute outstanding looking grain, makes this out of the ordinary pair of Biedermeier cabinets matchless. The darker, elaborately inlayed fields with this extraordinary bookmatched root ash create such a great contrast and additionally show thin frames made of delicate, ebonized wooden threads. By the way, have you already noticed this incredible bookmatched grain on the front doors? - it looks like the face of a greyhound. This one of a kind pair of Biedermeier cabinets provides a large lockable door that hides a storage compartment with four shelves. These items come in great restored condition. Artfully crafted brass fittings and the fantastic hand-polished shellac finish completes the incredible look of these perfect sized pieces of Biedermeier furniture. Really rare and special examples of 19th century Biedermeier cabinets that you won´t find a second time!
PLEASE NOTE: In case you like this extravagant 19th century Biedermeier style, we would also have the remarkable matching Biedermeier commode as well as the beautiful large, matching wall mirror - please check out items Ref ID: BM-BH1 and BM-WM170 -
