One of a kind 19th century French marquetry chest of drawers from the period around 1870. Providing four lockable drawers, this absolutley eye-catching transitional styled commode was made of fine cherrywood and impresses with its elaborately set marquetry work on the drawers fronts as well as on the sides. This amazing looking design - the so-called "cube" marquetry - conveys it a very special 3D effect. On top you have the original red/ white marble plate additionally framed by a stylish brass bar. Beautifully shaped slender legs, noble brass applications and a traditional hand-polished shellac finish completes the exceptional look of this elegant shaped transitional style commode from the late 19th century in France. Coming to you in perfect restored condition.
