French 20th Century Louis Philippe Style Commode
-
Description
Recently updated with ebonizing and decoupage in England, this early 20th century French chest of drawers offers a moment of whimsy anywhere around the home. Solid birch makes for sturdy construction of the case and five drawers with solid, turned wood knobs (made in the profile of Louis Philippe commodes). The fish illustrations appear gilded against the deep ebonized finish below. The drawer in the frieze has retained a working lock and key, as well as the bottom drawer. View the detailed images.
