Exceptional Oscar Nilsson Attributed Sideboard in Oak Wood, Sweden, 1940s

Price Upon Request
  • Description
This exceptionally rare sideboard was produced in Sweden in the 1940s by Isidor Hörlin and the design is strongly attributed to Oscar Nilsson.

Crafted entirely from oak wood, the cabinet is distinguished by its sculptural geometric relief. Four deeply profiled panels—two rectangular panels to the front and a square panel on each side—create a striking architectural composition while showcasing the exceptional craftsmanship. The front is fitted with two drop-down doors, opening to an interior fitted with both drawers and shelving. The striking design is distinguished by its deeply profiled oak surfaces, the precision of the craftsmanship, and the warm patina of the wood.

The piece remains in its completely original condition and has been well preserved. The oak has developed a warm, natural patina with minor wear consistent with age and use. The top shows some light color variation from age and use, which does not detract from the overall appearance.
