Description
Dimensions: 74 ½” H x 35 ½” W x 16 ⅛” D
This 18th-century Swedish cabinet would make a stunning, unique addition to any interior. The blue and red paint is original to the piece and is still vibrant, despite the cabinet’s heavy patina. It appears that before the red paint was dry, it was wiped away in a series of scalloped lines to reveal the woodtone underneath. The light blue has been used to highlight areas of carving in the wood. The cabinet door opens with its original spring loaded lock and key, and the interior includes a single, fixed shelf measuring 12” deep. There is a small drawer immediately below the cabinet that can only be pulled out once the cabinet door has been opened. The lower part of the cabinet has two wider drawers above a plinth base. The bottom drawer does not have a pull, but it opens easily. The cabinet sits atop a painted blue stand with a scalloped apron. We believe this to be in good antique condition considering the age, and any visible signs of wear are captured in the photos. Please view the detailed image gallery for the current condition or reach out with any questions. -
