Description
This rare pair of sculptural desks was produced in Italy circa 1960 and is executed in the style of Carlo De Carli. Crafted in richly toned wood, the desks feature elegant asymmetrical compositions, floating drawer units, geometric carved detailing, and slender black lacquered metal legs with brass sabots. The larger executive desk is accompanied by a smaller coordinating desk, together forming a refined and highly versatile ensemble.
Reflecting the architectural sensibility that defined Italian modernism during the 1950s and 1960s, the design balances functionality with sculptural presence. The clean lines, carefully proportioned volumes, and subtle decorative elements create a sophisticated visual lightness, making this pair an exceptional example of collectible Italian mid-century design.
