This rare side table was designed by Charles Dudouyt and produced in France in the late 1940s. The different carved shapes of the wood illustrate the craftsmanship and originality of Dudouyt’s production. This striking design is well sized for use as a side table and works well in a range of interior settings.
The round top is made of oak and displays an especially pronounced and attractive grain pattern, with a subtly rounded edge. The turned central column features a sequence of carved and rounded profiles that create a strong and elegant silhouette. It stands on a circular base carved with concentric rings, where the oak’s grain is also on full display.
The table is in overall very good condition, showing a natural patina consistent with age and use.
