French 19th Century Solid Beech Farm Table

Dimensions: 30 ⅛” H x 82 ½” W x 30 ¼” D

A muscular French beech wood farm table from circa 1870 of thick proportions to anchor a dining room or workspace. The two-plank top (approximately 3 ½” thick) reveals a series of “honest repairs” by square dowels interrupting the natural flow of the grain. The top and solid legs are proportionate, making a linear profile with stretcher bars on the ends reinforcing the sheer mass. It appears the table has been raised at some point in time with blocks added to the feet of each leg, shaped and stained to match. This antique farm table has been gently cleaned and polished with a French paste wax to preserve all the historic character, ready to join your interior.
