Creator: Heltborg Mobler -John Mortensen
Offered by: Fenestella

Description
Rosewood extension dining table manufactured by Heltborg Møbler, Denmark, circa 1960s, attributed to John Mortensen.

The circular top features figured rosewood veneer with contrasting reddish-brown and dark grain, bordered by a rosewood edge. Two removable extension leaves convert the table to an elongated oval.

The divided pedestal base comprises two upright supports with angular feet. Each support moves with its corresponding tabletop half as the table opens, distributing the base beneath the extended surface.

Includes two extension leaves. Retains the underside label bearing Heltborg Møbler, Domus Danica, Danish Furnituremakers Control, and “Made in Denmark” marks.

Heltborg Møbler was a Danish furniture manufacturer based in Fredericia. Its origins trace to Lars Heltborg’s cabinetmaking business, established in 1910 and relocated to a factory in Fredericia in 1918. The firm later produced furniture associated with Danish modern design.
